Sustainability Aware is a series of educational apps made to inform and engage kids about our environment and our impacts on the Earth. What’s Up With The Weather? takes an in-depth look at our changing climate and what we can do about it.

In this app we’ll learn about:
· the difference between weather and climate
· Earth’s climate history and how Earth’s climate has changed over time
· climate change – including man-made warming, the greenhouse effect and greenhouse gases
· how and why humans are having an impact on climate
· scientific methods of predicting weather and climate
· myths about climate change and science-based responses to these myths
· what we can do about climate change on a personal and political level.

We’ll also take an in-depth look at the effects of climate change on:

· Earth’s ecosystems and biodiversity
· melting glaciers and rising sea levels
· the occurence of natural disasters.

Reading level: Approximately 10–12 years old, Australian middle to upper primary school level. Suitable for guided reading and classroom use.
